Blue Essence

HR Blue essencesthe EA, are the main payment method to unlock League of Legends content, the other way is through Riot Points. Blue Essences can be obtained either by disenchanting Champion Shards that you get in capsules upon leveling up, or through missions.

The first launch of the blue essences was at the beginning of Season 2016, thus being able to combine the payment method with the Influence Points or IP. From patch 7.22, the influence points disappeared, thus leaving blue essences as the only free payment method.

Use of Blue Essences

• The blue essences can be used to:
  • Buy champions (through the Shop, or with champion shards).
  • Buying or getting Hextech Chests.
  • Raise champion mastery to level 6 or 7.
  • Buy an additional page of runes.
  • Buy chromas if they make them available.
  • Purchase exclusive content during the Essence Emporium event.
  • Change your summoner name.

Obtain and use the Blue Essences

Leveling up

• Starting at summoner level 5, every time you level up you are given a summoner capsule which can contain champion shards and / or essences. Shards can be disenchanted by Blue Essences, activate the champion for a period of 7 days, or permanently unlock him.
• The total of blue essences that you can get when disenchanting a champion is established between  820 minimum and maximum 1260. [1] [2] [3]
• The cost of a Champion Shard when disenchanted equals a 20% discount off the price of EA in store. On the other hand, 60% of the real price of BE upon permanently unlocking a Champion Shard:

Daily Mission: The First Victory

Blue Essences can also be obtained once per day when achieving the first victory. The award consists of  50 and  400 XP.

Additional missions

Some additional missions are added to the daily reward during the course of events, where the player can get a large amount of Blue Essences.
