" | "I am a good doctor. Patients never return." |
El Dr. Mundo, completely insane, tragically homicidal and luridly purple, is the reason the citizens of Zaun stay in their homes on particularly dark nights. Now a self-proclaimed physician, in another life he was a patient in the most infamous asylum in Zaun. After curing the entire staff, Dr. Mundo set up his practice in the empty wards that once housed him and began to mimic the highly unethical procedures that he had so often received himself. With a cabinet full of drugs and zero medical knowledge, each injection he gives increases his monstrosity and terrifies the unfortunate patients who wander near his office.

Mad of Zaun
In the wards of the infamous madhouse of Zaun, a monstrous solitary figure roams the halls. His methods are daring, his saw is sharp, and his patients are terrified. Because this man is no doctor, except in the fantasies of his own mind.
Although his real name was lost in time and memory, Dr. Mundo was once a peacemaker working for one of Zaun's most powerful chemobarons. Known for his boisterous kindness, he was extraordinarily kind to someone who made a living using physical intimidation. He was always quick to come up with a friendly nickname or pat on the back, and often blissfully ignored the conflicts he got into. Causing a conflict for his boss was only a matter of time.
Determined to make his subordinate an example to all, the chemobaron sent him to Osweld Psychiatric Hospital, a place famous for its inhumane treatments and dubious remedies. The baron watched with satisfaction as his peacemaker was imprisoned and dragged into the padded confines of the asylum's maximum-security cell.
In the months that followed, the peacemaker was the victim of unspeakable horrors committed by his so-called caretakers. Experimental treatments were performed without any concern for the well-being of the patient. His nerves were pricked, his lobes severed, and unauthorized medicines were administered in large quantities. The peacemaker began to change, and his already large build grew more muscular by the day. His brain, however, suffered the worst of fates. Losing all memories of his past life, the peacemaker struggled to make sense of the cruel world around him. He looked down at his old straitjacket ... it was almost the same as the white coats worn by the medical professionals around him.
Misinterpreting the words on his own uniform, he began to assume a new name and a new profession.
I too must be a doctor. Why else would he be in this bloody madhouse? He thought. And all these people ... must be my patients.
At last the day came when the chemobaron went to the asylum to free his peacemaker. To his surprise, there was no one to meet him in the lobby. The corridors were empty and silent except for the weak, incoherent babbling of a deranged patient in a room at the end of the corridor.
The baron entered the room to find a chilling scene: scattered across the floor were countless corpses, both patients and doctors, so dismembered that it was impossible to recognize them. Standing atop them, a burly purple monstrosity muttered incoherently as a long blue tongue hung from the corner of its massive mouth. His muscles protruded from under the too-small clothing, and in his clenched fist he held a surgical saw. The baron paled as his gaze fell on the monster's face, as he recognized it as his former peacemaker.
The monster, who did not remember his former boss, only saw another patient desperate for treatment. The purple creature lumbered toward the kimobaron, swinging its saw in anticipation. The baron drew his quimtech pistol and fired. The shot pierced the menacing mass in front of him and managed to stagger the monster ...
But only for a moment.
The hole in the creature's flesh closed rapidly as new muscle fibers grew back over the wound. The monster paused, looked at him questioningly, and muttered: You sick. Need help!.
In imitation of what he had seen countless former asylum professionals do, the peacemaker tossed the man onto a nearby stretcher, strapped his arms together, and prepared the instruments for surgery. The kimobaron paled when he realized the dire fate that awaited him.
The resulting surgery, like so many others before and after, was not successful. The budding doctor added the remains of his most recent patient to the pile on the floor. Although she was sad that she hadn't been able to save him, she knew that she had done everything in her power. Besides, he would have other opportunities. Zaun was full of sick people waiting to be cured. Again with a smile on her face, she left the hospital and started walking the streets in search of more patients.
