    • Please use the information in this article with consideration. It could be out of date.

    Use of Skills

    • Gangplank is an excellent fighter in 1v1 situations due to his high single target damage output and CC removal. Always look for players who are out of position.
    • Don't underestimate the extra gold of Regret when used to kill minions rather than harass in the early game.
    • Eliminating Scurvy Eliminating Scurvy can allow you to stay in the lane for an extended period of time.
    • Eliminating Scurvy Eliminating Scurvy cancels suppressions, eg. Hell Grip and Infinite Oppression, although the Hell's Grip Malzahar continues to deal damage after the suppression is canceled.
    • In a desperate lane situation, Gangplank has a great ability to just stay online and farm as much as possible. The range and reduction of mana cost when landing the last hit of Parrrlamentar allows Gangplank farming even with the enemy's efforts to fully zone him, building himself gold items for 10 allows him to stay in the game even though the enemy is controlling the lane, Cannon Discharge and Boosting Morale Boosting Morale can be used to assist allies even if they are pushing you against your turret, and Eliminating Scurvy Eliminating Scurvy supports you against enemy harassment. With this strategy, it is preferable to maximize by Raising Morale Raising Morale by the additional attack damage to allow you to make the last hit under your turret, and then Eliminating Scurvy Eliminating Scurvy if it is necessary to stay in line and have more sustain. Leveling up first Regretting in this situation is not preferable as the mana cost and bonus gold increase is less useful as using Regretting over and over will only earn you another last hit, instead having more attack damage from Raising Morale Raising Morale will allow you to win more last hits under the turret, while Parrrlamentar may be cooling down.
    • Raising Morale Raising Morale can be used defensively and offensively, as it allows you to move quickly to escape or attack, and take extra damage for the latter.
    • Spells Gangplank have considerable animation times. Keep this in mind when planning to use Raising Morale Raising Morale or Eliminating Scurvy Eliminating Scurvy to escape a pursuer.
    • Use Raising Morale Raising Morale when pushing a tower. This can quickly give you and your allies the push they need to knock down structures, effectively allowing you and your team to attack the turrets, without the enemy team having enough time to defend.
    • Cannon Barrage can be used through the map. You can help in ambushes / teamfights anywhere, helping with damage and slow in massive area.
      • Paying attention to low-life enemies on the map, it can give you a surprise kill with Cannon discharge.
      • Try to put Cannon discharge on the path in which the enemies flee to cut them off.
    • Cannon Barrage With a little luck, you can save a turret that is surrounded by minions.
    • Teaming up with other AoE damage abilities, they can synergize very well with your ultimate. Cannon Discharge, such as Absolute Zero of Nunu, The balancer Rumble, Shooting of Miss Fortune, Durand's Idol Durand's Idol of Gallium, Cataclysm of Jarvan IV o Megainfernal bomb of Ziggs.
    • The passive Rage granted by Bacteriophage or the Trinity Force will activate if Cannon Barrage damages an enemy, which means that launching  Cannon Barrage in an early team match can help you get there faster.

    Use of Objects

    • Because Parrrlamentar applies on-hit effects like Ice Mallet, The Dark Blade and Brilliance, in addition to his own Grog-Soaked Edge, Grog-Soaked Edge, are all useful items.
    • Although the Raising Morale Raising Morale active offers Gangplank even more bonus attack damage, its duration is very short compared to its cooldown, while the passive bonus is small. More attack damage items should be added to complement it.
      • Bloodbath is a very strong and useful offensive item to complete.
    • Because Parrrlamentar benefits from critical hits, items with critical hit chance and damage are very strong. Sword of Greed Sword of Greed, Fervor, and Infinity Edge will help maximize your damage output.
      • The Pure Critical Hit build, while very popular, leaves Quite squishy gangplank. Although there is the possibility of having a great DPS, the high cost of the low survivability, including the low armor and magic resistance of Gangplank makes it less viable.
      • If you want to focus on farming and have a strong late game, gangplank de  Parrrlamentar is supplemented by 10-fold gold items like the Sword of Avarice Sword of Avarice, which grants a decent amount of critical strike chance and can be built on the  Youmuu's Ghost Sword and the Dagger of Statikk later.
    • Building yourself as a 'Tankplank' is very effective, although not as popular anymore, it offers survival and an opportunity for you to Gangplank make full use of your skill set. It also allows Gangplank increase your DPS as you build a Thread of the Infinite.
      • La Trinity Force is an excellent essential target with Gangplank, as all the bonus damage and movement speed from the Trinity Force applies to Parrlament as well as provides additional critical strike chance and movement speed, which greatly increases damage-dealing and chasing abilities. Gangplank.
      • Because the Trinity Force and the Infinity Edge come at a great cost, one might have to decide between Infinity Edge or Trinity Force as the primary source of damage with the tanky build.
      • Un Ice Mallet or Spectral Dancer might be a useful alternative to Trinity strength but at an even higher cost.
    • Cooldown Reduction items are quite effective with Gangplank, since most of his abilities (Eliminating Scurvy, Eliminating Scurvy, Raising Morale, Raising Morale, and Cannon Discharge) have very long cooldowns and also allow Gangplank use Regret as often as possible.
      • The unique combination of Zeke's Herald statistics Zeke's Herald or the Youmuu's Ghost Sword may make them worth buying.
    • Gangplank is effective when jungle, although a few runes are required to complete it. The Jungler gangplank is based on building Warrior and using  Unload Cannons for extra gold, helping the lanes without having to gank. This allows Gangplank will spend a significant amount of time farming in the jungle without missing out on opportunities to score assists or kills thanks to his high mobility.
    • If you find the mana problems of Especially troublesome gangplank, consider buying the Tear of the Goddess and build it on the Manamune later.
      • This is only recommending if you can keep up with your build. The 2100 cost of the Manamune could delay your build early in the game if you can't farm well, or if your lane opponent has the upper hand.
    • The AP Gangplank, while an unconventional build, may be difficult to kill with but it packs a surprising amount of damage with its Cannon discharge. The Curse of the Liche effectively adds a .5 AP rate to compensate for the lack of crit and its Eliminating Scurvy Eliminating Scurvy will heal much more. AP objects alive like the Rylai's Crystal Scepter and the Rod of Ages will also help with your survival. When you build yourself as APlank you will want to get the Curse of the Liche, Morellonomicon, and the Nashor Tooth. As this will give you 40% cooldown reduction and a higher Ability Power rate than Vel'Koz's ultimate.
      • Though Parrlament is classified as a skill with on-hit effects, Liandry's Torment will not apply, only her Cannon Barrage will benefit from it, however they both have very good synergy.

    How to Counter

    • Fight against Gangplank can be a bit frustrating. Parrrlamentar has a relatively short cooldown and deals a lot of damage early in the game if it hits critical. Starting with a Cloth Armor and 5 Life Potions will give you a ton of sustain and damage reduction to deal with this.
    • Eliminating Scurvy Eliminating Scurvy from Gangplank is very annoying for magicians who rely on crowd control to use their entire combo. Save your crowd control until after he uses Killing Scurvy Killing Scurvy.
      • Champions with multiple crowd control abilities, specifically Blitzcrank, can significantly slow down Gangplank, despite his Eliminating Scurvy Eliminating Scurvy. Since it only removes the current debuffs, one can use a "soft" crowd control ability (like slow) to force him to use his Eliminate Scurvy Eliminate Scurvy, then use his "hard" crowd control (like a stun or deletion) to start really harassing him. Also note that crowd control in area or is constantly reapplied (such as Omen of Pestilence of Yorick or the Rain of Bullets Rain of Bullets Miss Fortune) are reapplied immediately after being eliminated, so when the casting time of Eliminating Scurvy expires, the mana control will take longer to wear off than it normally lasts. Airborne crowd controls (lift / take down, shoves) cannot be cleared, so Alistar, Aatrox, and Blitzcrank's crowd control are not countered.
    • Although his early harassment is strong, Gangplank is quite squishy in the line phase. Putting aggressive pressure on your lane will weaken your strong mid / late game.
      • Parrrlamentar deals mediocre damage early in the game, but will turn out to be quite effective in the late game, once the chance for critical hits or on-hit effects has been built. Try to make it build defensively rather than build as damage output.
    • Cannon Barrage has a huge area of effect and global reach. Quickly avoid the area of effect if you use it while on the run. Be aware of the potential of this ability to appear anywhere and at any time.
    • To counter Gangplank is required to starve him to death from his farm, meaning that he cannot give the last blow to the minions, he gets an early advantage by pushing him out of the lane, and forcing him to play with more risk than he generally would like. Teams should also prioritize it as a target for ambushes and teamfights depending on how it's built and its allies.
    • Be aware of its Eliminating Scurvy Eliminating Scurvy will give you an advantage if your kit has enough crowd control compared to the ability's long cooldown. Casting a skill with a lower crowd control will force Gangplank to use his ability, there you must press your damage as much as possible within the range of his Eliminating Scurvy Eliminating Scurvy.
