• Garen is the older brother of Lux and her last name is Crown Guard.
  • He deeply respects and loves his sister, but fears what will happen to her if her magical abilities are revealed.
    • After the events of Lux's comic, Lux revealed her wizard nature to Garen. The two parted ways on good terms.
  • He and his aunt, Tianna Crown Guard, planned to arrange for Lux to marry the prince. Jarvan IV to protect her from persecution.
  • As their surname indicates, they serve and protect the crown.
• Jarvan IV is Garen's childhood friend.
  • When the Prince was captured, Garen felt responsible and led the Valiant Vanguard on a rescue operation.

• Nocturne terrorized the Demacian settlement of Fossbarrow until Garen and Lux was expelled from the neighboring grave.
  • Nocturne was sealed in the grave of his great-grandfather Fossian, who died during the fight against him, before a young wizard named Luca accidentally woke him up.
• Garen has fought against Sylas and his allies multiple times.
• Garen ran into Galio when his sister summoned the Colossus to fight Sylas and his allies.
• Garen and Fiora knows each other, as she helps train the Courageous Vanguard, though they never train together because "the result would be obvious."
