General

  • Jhin is voiced by Oscar Flores in LATAM and by Claudio Serrano in EUW.
  • Jhin is partially inspired by Simo Häyhä.
  • His stage name Khada Jhin means "Golden Excellence":
    • Jhin derives from Mandarin 金 jīn [t͡ɕin˥] "gold" [1]
      • In the Chinese localization, his name is written 烬 ~ 燼 jìn [t͡ɕin˥˩] <ref> http://wwg.com/league-of-legends/2017/04/25/check-out-the-translation-of -chinese-league-of-legends-champion- / "ashes <remains", from Old Chinese * dzins盡 ~ 尽 jìn "to finish, exhaust" [3]).
    • Khada refers to the real-life scarf Khata, from the Tibetan ཁ་ བཏགས kha-btags.
  • His dance refers to the Lezginka dance.
    • You can see a side-by-side comparison here.
  • Jhin is the first champion to feature a takedown animation in his classic look, via The Beauty of Death. However, it should be noted that the passive effect is not solely for cosmetic purposes.
    • Despite being the only one seen in the game, the rose is just one of the many things you see when you kill someone. [5]
  • The violin for Jhin's theme (followed by a chorus) can be heard while the player is channeling Call to Scene.
    • People in spectator mode can hear it too, although allies and enemies cannot.
  • Occasionally, when playing as Jhin, early in the game (between your team appearing at the source and then the minions appearing at the nexus) you may hear a version of the map's theme that fits Jhin's own style.
    • He will always hum and laugh.
      • Return to normal music in approximately 45 seconds.
  • Jhin has a certain degree of innate magic, as he is able to put magic in his bullets. The weapon itself Whisper, it's already magic because it's hextech.
    • The Rioter have confirmed that their bullets shape the flesh of their victims of their choice or cause it to move, as well as other effects.
      • Examples would be the four champions ( end, We are, I saw and Zed) chosen to be in their teasers.
  • Before the redesign of Mordekaiser, if Jhin were killed with Sons of the Tomb Sons of the Tomb and entered ghost form, he would never run out of bullets.
  • Jhin's German title, Der Virtuose, is the masculine original of the title of Sona, Die Virtuosine.
  • The voice filter of PROJECT: Jhin makes it sound similar to 'Ultron' from Marvel Comics.
  • According to the cinematic for League of Legends Season 2019: Awaken, Jhin can also play the piano.

Development

  • Jhin was the first champion released in 2016 and is the product of the need for a new Marksman.
    • Its first designer was Jordan 'Wrekz' Anton but his initial concepts were the first steps towards Kindred.
      • Jhin was in production for 7 months (the normal period for a champion is one year).
  • During development he was called Deadeye. [6]
  • There were 6 candidates for his name at some point, one of which is Khada, which would end up being part of his stage name. [7]
  • One of the story lines for Jhin was similar to canon but with Graves and Twisted Fate instead of Shen and Zed.[8]
  • The words Jhin and Deadeyed were leaked from the game's website.
    • The Virtuoso's name (mispronounced) was pronounced by a Rioter before it was revealed. [9] [10]
  • His name during production was 'Jin the Mortal Craftsman'.
    • The H was added later to avoid confusion with Jinx, another August 'Groovylord' Browning champion.
  • At one point, the fourth shot of Murmur was able to assassinate a Zed in all his health.
  • Dancing Grenade used to be able to re-launch from an enemy location, but the knowledge load was considered too high.
    • It also used to bounce an unlimited number of times. [eleven]
  • Deadly Bud used to reveal marked champions for a few seconds even through the fog of war.
    • His tooltip implies that Jhin uses the He mutters like a baton, which he actually does when he's not "acting."
      • At one point it was basically a 2500 range javelin.
  • Due to the lack of communication during production, Jhin differs between the illustrations and the game.
    • His eyes are reddish brown even though they are blue.
    • He has seemingly prosthetic robotic limbs, despite the fact that he simply wears golden armor on top to handle recoil from Murmur when fully assembled.
  • Blake 'Squad5' Smith was the Quality Assurance Analyst at Jhin and implemented the camera zoom, dealing with the blockage and executing the damage to his ultimate ability. It was his work at Jhin that convinced top management to allow him to design his first champion. [12] [13]
  • One of the possible names of Call to Scene was "Make them beautiful." [14]
  • Jhin's obsession with the number four arose when they found his character defining the game, four shots of his passive, which then reported the number of shots for Call to Scene. His obsession with his gun was the beginning to naturally highlight the number of bullets in his gun. [15] [16]
