Visual effect of the object
- Although stacks of Madness can only be generated by damaging enemy champions, the damage increase applies to all enemy types (champions, monsters, minions, and turrets).
- Madness's damage boost stacks multiplicatively with other damage multipliers (for example, Abyssal Mask, Coup de Grace).
- Madness's increased damage does not apply to true damage, but does apply to all other sources of damage, including active items, passive items, and runes (eg. Sablepistola Hextech, Echo of Luden, Arcane Comet).
- Tormento No. will work with passive items that deal magic damage like Coat of Thorns, Cloak of Solar Fire and himself.
- Most abilities that apply on-hit effect (for example, Infinite Oppression, Toxic Shot) will not trigger Torment. Objects with impact effects such as At the Edge of Sanity and Nashor tooth.
- There are a selection of abilities that apply on-hit effects that are still classified as spell effects and will trigger Torment. These abilities are generally area-of-effect and will activate spell vampirism (i.e. Vorpal Nails).
Strategy
- Liandry's Torment is probably best for ability power based champions who can deal either magic damage per life percentage as well as Amumu, Brand, Elise, Evelynn, Fizz, Poppy, Malzahar, Mordekaiser o Sejuani, or have damage-over-time abilities like Amumu, Brand, Cassiopeia, Dr. World, Fiddlesticks, Gangplank, Malzahar, Rumble, Singed, Swain o Teemo.
- This item synergizes with items with crowd control effects, such as Rylai's Crystal Scepter or Gauntlet of the Iceborn, as the item will apply the slow mark and Liandry's Torment, which will do double damage.
- Rylai's Crystal Scepter will slow champions on landing spells but this effect lasts only 1.5 seconds while damage over time occurs for 3 seconds, so only the first half of damage over time is doubled.
- Spell damage does not refer to a specific damage type, it will work on both physical and magic damage spells.
- Most skills that apply on-hit effects such as Infinite Oppression and Toxic Shot will not activate Liandry's Torment. Objects with impact effects such as At the Edge of Sanity and Nashor tooth.
- There is a group of abilities that apply on-hit effects that are still classified as spells and activate Liandry's Torment. These are generally area of effect abilities and will apply spell vampirism. For example, Righteous Fury Righteous Fury and Vorpal Nails.
- Certain object triggers that deal damage also work, such as Bilgewater Saber and Sablepistola Hextech
- The passive of this object No. works with passives of items that deal magic damage like Coat of Thorns, Sunfire Cloak and himself
Spring Suspension
- The pulsations of Liandry's Torment they will pulse 6 times at half-second intervals. Each press deals 1% of the enemy's current health as magic damage. The damage of each beat is calculated individually.
- This effect checks with each press if the enemy's movement is impeded and deals double magic damage (2%) if so.
Trivia
- In various Riot advertisements the item was referred to as Liandry's Lament, and it is occasionally referred to as such.
- Originally the item was to be called Zephyr's Lament, but was later changed to Liandry's Torment.
- If a player checks the "recap" after dying, if he suffered damage from Liandry's Torment, this item's damage is displayed without an icon and referred to as "zephyrslamentburn".
- The object was named for LiaNdrY, the leader of an unofficial Russian client development team.
