Life stealing is an offensive stat that takes a percentage of life from the enemy and transfers it from the physical damage dealt to restored health. A champion's basic attack, abilities that apply on-hit effects, and abilities that modify the next basic attack benefit from lifesteal. [1]

Lifesteal is calculated from the actual damage dealt to an enemy, after reductions made by armor and other forms of damage reduction. Almost every champion has a base lifesteal of 0%. It can be increased with items, runes, masteries, and some champion abilities.

Notes

  • Lifesteal stacks additively, and has no limit.
  • The passive effect of the Spirit Appearance increases the effectiveness of lifesteal (since it does not increase the stat itself, it is displayed the same way on the champion's stat page [C]).
  • Lifesteal does not heal for damage done against turrets and inhibitors.
  • Lifesteal heals for damage dealt to minions, monsters, pets, and champions.
  • Skills that apply on-hit effects such as Mystic Shot and Parrrlamentar work with theft of life.
  • Lifesteal does not work for abilities that do not apply on-hit effects, nor with active items such as Sword of the Ruined King.
  • Heal reduction effects such as Ignition, Storm of Arrows Varus reduces the life restored by the life steal. See Cure Reduction for more information.

Trivia

  • The maximum amount of lifesteal obtainable is 222.6% with Zion thanks to his passive, Glory in Death. To reach that amount, he must:
    • Have all the points in the masteries Vampirismo Vampirismo and Segundo Aire Segundo Aire.
    • Have three Major Lifesteal Quintessence.
    • Having an Bloodroot, four Voracious Hydras, and a Spiritual appearance.
    • Being affected by the aura of Zeke's Herald Zeke's Herald of an ally.
    • Be below 25% health while under the effects of Glory in Death and Second Air Second Air.
This combination will result in Sion has 244.86% lifesteal. Relevant Math: Theft of life from Sion = (3 + 4.5 + 20 + (4 脳 12) + 10 + 100) 脳 (1.2 脳 1.1) = 244.86% v 路 e Champions Stats
