Mass control (or from the English crowd control, CC) is the term used to describe an ability or spell that temporarily reduces a unit's ability to fight. The term 'crowd control' comes from the ability to control the enemy team during combat, either by restricting their contribution to it or their means of escape. In addition, the use of crowd control can help your survival: in the same way that you can prevent others from escaping, you can prevent them from chasing.
Crowd control does not make an enemy unreachable. In the case of Aerial Takedowns effects, the target is considered to be on the ground for the purpose of skill shots or area-of-damage effects (such as Cursed Earth Cursed Earth from Morgana).

Type
This article contains a simplified version of the content. For the full article, see: Types of Crowd Control.
The following are the current forms of crowd control that exist in League of Legends:
- In the air: A unit is considered airborne when it cannot move, attack, or use abilities for the duration. Duration is not affected by crowd control reduction and cannot be removed by purification effects.
- Push: A push causes the target to be thrown in the air away from the launch point. Duration depends on how far the target travels, from 0.75 seconds ( Rolling ball Rammus) hasta 1.5 ( Enormousness of Lulu).
- Demolition: A knockdown causes the target to be thrown into the air in the same location. Duration depends on how high the target is thrown into the air, from 0.75 seconds ( Rolling ball Rammus) hasta 1.5 ( Enormousness of Lulu).
- Grip / Throw: A grab effect causes the target to be thrown into the air towards the launch point.
- Blindness: A blinded unit will miss its basic attacks for the duration.
- Envelope: A wrapped unit will not be able to move or perform basic attacks for the duration.
- Forced action: A unit under the effects of a forced action cannot control its own movements or attacks, and cannot use abilities.
- Charm: An enchanted unit will move toward the source of the enchantment for the duration.
- Fear: The unit will walk to the opposite side of the source of fear seeing its movement speed reduced for the duration.
- Terrified: The selected unit will try to get away from the attacker. [1]
- Provocation: A provoked unit will attempt to attack the source of the provocation for the duration.
- Change of form: A unit that is pacified cannot attack or use abilities for the duration, and its movement speed is reduced for the duration.
- Rooting: A rooted unit is unable to control its movement for the duration (occasionally referred to as a Stun).
- Silence: A unit that is silenced cannot use abilities for the duration.
- Slowdown: A unit that is slowed will have its movement speed reduced for the duration.
- Daze: A unit that is stunned cannot attack, move, or use abilities for the duration.
- Suspension: A suspended unit is considered airborne at the end of the Last Breath, but for counteracting purposes it is considered a stun.
- Suppression: A unit that is suppressed cannot control its movement, attack, use abilities or spells (including Purification). Duration is not affected by crowd control reduction.

Please note the following:
- Movement includes previews and flashes (such as Arcane Displacement of Ezreal).
- For example, while in the air you can use summoner spells except Flash and Teleportation.
- Skill refers to champion cast spells (by default Q, W, E, and R).
- Mikael's Crucible cannot be activated when abilities are disabled, as the item is intended to be used on allies.
- Spells refers to summoner spells.
- Interrupt refers to whether or not the effect cancels channeled abilities.
- Contrary to popular belief, Roots and Wraps DO NOT interrupt channeling, with only two exceptions: Teleportation and United of Shen. Roots and Sheaths, however, interrupt abilities that charge (for example Honda Elastic, Vaultbreaker and Piercing Arrow).
- Mercurial Scimitar removes any crowd control effects that the Mercury Sash also removes.

- Suppression
Action Modifiers - The following effects somehow inhibit the ability to attack or cast abilities:
- In the air
- Blindness
- Envelope
- Forced action
- Change of form
- Silence
- Daze
- Suppression
Countering crowd control
Crowd control can be countered in a number of different ways.
Prevention
All forms of crowd control can be prevented, including takedowns, thrusts, and grabs.
- Unstoppable of Master Yi prevents slows for 10 seconds, kills and assists against champions extend the duration by 4 seconds.
- Diplomatic Immunity Diplomatic Immunity of Poppy prevents all forms of CC for 6/7/8 seconds except those coming from her target.
- Ragnarok of Olaf prevents all CC for 6 seconds.
- Black Shield of Morgana prevents all forms of CC for 5 seconds or until the shield is broken.
- Mantle of Darkness Nocturne creates a magic shield for 1.5 seconds that can block the next enemy spell that hits it.
- Spell Shield of Sivir creates a magic barrier for 1.5 seconds that can block the next enemy spell that hits her.
- Veil of the Banshee creates an anti-spell shield that can block an enemy spell every 40 seconds.
Elimination
Crowd control can be removed after it has been applied. These effects can be activated while under crowd control effects.
All forms of crowd control can be eliminated except thrusts, knocks, and grabs.
Items and spells
- Purification removes all CC except suppression.
- Ward Blade Ward Blade: Unique Active - Mercury: Removes all debuffs and, if the champion is melee, this item also grants + 50% bonus movement speed for 1 second (90 second cooldown). + 50% Attack Speed, +45 Magic Resist, + 10% Cooldown Reduction. 3000 gold.

Objects
- Mercury's Boots: Unique Passive - Tenacity: Reduces the duration of stuns, slows, taunts, fear, silence, blindness, shapeshifting, and roots by 35%. +25 Magic Resistance. Unique Passive - Enhanced Movement: +45 Movement Speed. 1200 gold.

Masteries / Spells
- Purification reduces CC by 65% for 3 seconds.
- Tenacious Tenacious Mastery reduces CC by 15%.
Slowdown power reduction
These effects reduce the power of movement slows. Similar effects multiply accumulate with each other. Note: This does not reduce the duration of the effect.
- Boots of Swiftness reduce the power of slows by 25%.
- Frost Frost of Sejuani reduces the power of slows by 10/15/20/25%.
Auto-CC
The following effects are comparable to crowd control, except that the effect is caused voluntarily and affects the user rather than a target.
Self-Takedown: A champion who knocks himself down and is temporarily unable to attack and perform movement commands. The target can still cast spells.
- Concentrated load of Ziggs
Self-Rooting: A self-grounded champion is unable to control his movement and will ignore movement commands (including forced actions, such as fear). A champion that is rooted can still be displaced by an aerial nature effect, but the root will not break.
- Disintegrating Ray of Living Things Vel'Koz
- Rite of the Arcanum of Xerath
Auto-Silence: A champion who silences himself is unable to cast abilities. They can still attack and use summoner spells.
- Junkyard Titan Rumble
These effects are not affected by crowd control reduction, nor can they be removed by purification effects.
A note on channeling and casting animations: none are considered a form of crowd control, however they can be interrupted. A notable example is Relentless Predator of Renekton, who incapacitates Renekton for a good portion of the stun duration - much to the chagrin of many players.
- Throws: The cast (sometimes the "charge") of an ability cannot be canceled by the player or an enemy except by death. Forced actions (such as taunts) will have no effect for the duration of the cast, and using effects of an aerial nature to move the player will not affect the trajectory of the ability - which will start from the cast point, not from the actual location. of the player. Summoner spells and most items can be activated while an ability is being cast.
- Channeling: Channeling an ability can be canceled by hard CC, or by the player himself while trying to perform other actions (such as moving, casting another ability, or attacking) - a notable exception is Bulwark of Galio, which can be cast during Idol of Durand Idol of Durand without interrupting it. Summoner spells and most items can be activated without interrupting channeling (which is particularly useful for Fiddlesticks in the jungle as you use them Life Potions will not interrupt Drain Drain).
- Auto-Slowdown: A champion who slows himself has his movement speed reduced. Most of the current examples are:
- Judgment of Garen (when passing through enemy units)
- Piercing Arrow of Varus
- Vaultbreaker of Vi
- Arcane Pulse of Xerath
- Self-Stun: The following champions have channeled abilities that the summoner cannot interrupt (unlike most channelings that are interrupted for other actions). This is comparable to a stun.
- Thus under the Sight of Caitlyn
- Hell's Grip Malzahar (for the first 0.5 second of the duration)
- I'm going back Posicional Hipercinético I'm back Urgot
- Infinite Oppression of Warwick
- Auto-Slowdown: A champion who slows himself has his movement speed reduced. Most of the current examples are:
