Read without
Lee Sin, a master of the ancient Ionian martial arts, is an exemplary fighter who channels the essence of the dragon spirit to meet any challenge that comes his way. Despite losing his sight many years ago, the warrior monk has dedicated his life to protecting his hometown against anyone who dares disturb its sacred balance. Enemies who underestimate his meditative appearance will have to endure his legendary fiery fists and searing roundhouse kicks.

Blind monk
Among the many spirits that the Ionians revere, none is as legendary as that of the dragon. While some believe it represents ruin, others consider it a symbol of rebirth. Very few can say for sure, even fewer have been able to channel the dragon spirit, and none have fully done so except for Lee Sin.
He came to the Shojin monastery as a child, claiming that the dragon had chosen him to exercise its power. The elderly monks saw flashes of their fire in the talented boy, but they could also sense his foolish pride and the disaster it could cause. Cautiously, they welcomed him as a disciple. However, as the others advanced, the elders kept him going by washing dishes and mopping floors.
Lee Sin began to grow impatient. He longed to fulfill his destiny, not to waste time on everyday tasks.
Sneaking into the hidden archives, he found some ancient texts describing how to invoke the spirit realm, and made the decision to show off his skill during a combat lesson. Without thinking twice, he released the dragon's anger in a kick that paralyzed his master. Consumed by shame and cast out by his arrogance, the young man set out to redeem himself.
The years went by. Lee Sin wandered far away, in very distant places, benevolently helping those in need. His travels took him to Freljord. There he met 
Udyr, a wild man who channeled the primitive beasts of his land. The man, known as the Shapeshifter, struggled to control the powers that were fighting within him, and Lee Sin began to question whether controlling the dragon would be possible. By sharing the need for a spirit guide, the two forged a bond, and Sin invited Udyr to join his journey, back home.
They were both dismayed to hear that the Noxian Empire had invaded Ionia. Monks from all the provinces had come to defend the holy monastery of Hirana, high in the mountains.
Lee Sin and Udyr found it besieged. The Noxian soldiers had penetrated Hirana's great hall. As Udyr rushed to join the fight, Lee Sin hesitated as he saw his former companions and teachers fall into the hands of enemy swords. The wisdom of Hirana, Shojin, much of the ancient culture of Ionia ... all would be lost.
With no other alternative, he summoned the dragon spirit.
A storm of flames sucked him in, set his skin on fire and burned the sight of his eyes. Filled with great power, he attacked the invaders with a flurry of dizzying blows and quick kicks; the indomitable spirit burned with greater intensity with each attack.
The monks had triumphed, but Lee Sin's desperate actions left the monastery in ruins and he had lost his sight forever. At last, in the blinding darkness, he realized that no mortal man could bend the strength of the dragon spirit to his will. Devastated and dying, he tied a piece of cloth over his blind eyes and staggered back to the mountain trails.
But the surviving teachers stopped him. By giving up all his desire for power, his discredited disciple was ready to start over. Although they would not forget his precedents of arrogance, the monks offered him absolution: the dragon's wrath was lethal and unpredictable, that was undeniable, but the humblest and most dignified mortal souls could face his fierce nature and use it from time to time.
Grateful, Lee Sin stayed with the monks to rebuild their monastery, and once the work was finished and the Shapeshifter returned to Freljord, Lee Sin fully dedicated himself to the pursuit of enlightenment.
In the years that followed the end of the war against Noxus, he continued to meditate on his role in Ionia. Aware that challenges still await his homeland, Lee Sin must hone himself and the dragon spirit within him to face whatever foes are to come.

⮞Ancient roots, winding trees, and leafy vines dangling from the rocks obscured the path through the wild jungle. Three men, exhausted, cut off everything that stood in their way, motivated by hearts full of greed and dreams of riches never seen before. For six days, the jungle had challenged them, but the temple awaited, hidden in the thicket. Its entrance was a towering colossal carved rock, with red and blue flowers covering the base. Statues in repose occupied the golden corners and garlands of yellow orchids tangled in the eaves.
