New year, new season. This is how the players who gather every day at Summoner's Rift think league of legends. It's an exciting time for all of them as the ranked rankings reset, as do their strengths and hopes for reaching as high as possible. However, this year they will have another important classification: the Honor system. This system is the result of Riot Games' efforts to achieve sporty behavior from Summoners. Through this tool, they intend to identify, recognize and reward such sportsmanship.
All players return to level 2 with the level reset, depending on their previous level.
"Until now, there was no efficient way for the community to recognize the sports behavior that many players display in the game. In fact, in the past it seemed that we focused more on penalizing bad behavior, and this does not highlight the good." , confesses Edgar Medina, Publishing Manager of Riot Games Iberia.
As Medina explains: "We believe that with these tools we support that among all the players we can identify and recognize those who fight with honor, and thanks to this we will be able to reward sports behavior with game content."
Badges according to levels
For all of this, Riot Games has been working to refine and update the honor system with the start of the new season. To do this, they have focused their efforts on ensuring that players know at all times where they are in the leaderboard and what rewards they will receive upon promotion.
The number of levels is still fixed at 5, but there are now three goals between the different levels. Once the players reach level 2, they will have to go through each one of them, until they manage to reach level 5.
Honor Capsule
At levels 3, 4, and 5, Summoners will receive a Capsule of Honor, the content of which will improve as they rise. As for the goals, starting at level 3, the reward for reaching each of them will be an Orb of Honor. Like the Honor Capsules, they do not need keys to be opened. Depending on the level the player is at, the Orb will contain more or less rewards.
Honor displayed in player profile
Likewise, Riot has wanted to make clear the importance of the honor system, leaving a space in the profile of each summoner reserved to show the level they have. However, they will only be able to see their own level, as that of the other profiles is hidden from other players.
