  • Champions who are highly dependent on their basic attacks ( Kog'Maw, Jax, Teemo, Tristana, etc.) weapon this item frequently for attack speed, life steal, moderate amount of attack damage, and passive that helps boost basic attacks. Champions with abilities that boost their attack speed like Graves, Lee Sin, or Nocturne make good synergy with the Sword of the Ruined King, making better use of the passive.
    • Champions who use basic attacks and deal true damage benefit even more from this item's passive, as the best way to deal with true damage is to build life. Several examples are Darius, Olaf, Vayne, Twitch, o incluso Cho'Gath. If desired, this principle can be exploited by accumulating more sources of true damage, such as Punishment, Ignition or Emblem of Ashes.
  • Sword of the Ruined King is a great pick for virtually any champion who uses basic attacks that deal percentage health damage like Kog'Maw y Vayne. It can even be considered in champions that deal percentage health damage with any skill like Lee Sin or Nasus.

  • Fighters and assassin who scale with attack damage often use this item ( Talon,  Pantheon,  We,  Zed,  Kha'Zix, etc.) as their active allows them to successfully pursue important targets and deal a reasonable amount of damage.

Notes

  • Passive on-hit damage do not cause critics since the damage bonus of it is not added to that of the basic attack, but it is considered as a bonus in the effect damage per hit.
  • Healing from the active's effect is not equal to 10% of the target's health, as it is calculated after considering damage mitigation effects.
  • Randuin's Omen is a good item to counter the Sword of the Ruined Kingas it provides armor, health, an attack speed slow; and the two active ones practically counteract each other.
  • Regardless of the active skill and attack speed, to overcome the damage taken by Bloodbath on a target, the target must have at least (80-25) / (0.08) = 687.5 health. To deal a higher average damage to a target than with Bloodbath from 100% to 0 health, the target must have at least 1375 health.
  • Although the Hextech Gunblade and Sword of the Ruined King they have a Bilgewater Saber in his recipe, the actives of each are considered different and will not put the other on cooldown, which leads to a considerable degree of slow if used consecutively.
