    From version 1.0.0.116 to version 6.8

    There is a form of magic that many inhabitants of Runeterra are unaware of and that the few who do know it exists discard it. It is the magic of the earth, which draws its power from the resonance of crystals and gems. Taric, the Gem Knight, is the only practitioner of this form of magic in all of Runeterra, and has been mistakenly summoned from a world far away. At home, Taric's father was a distinguished healer in his hometown. Taric was always interested in his father's activities, from an early age. Despite his growing knowledge of animal medicines, plants and herbs, what fascinated him most was the power of gems. It wasn't long before he dominated his father's library and went his own way. He wanted to help people, but not only by healing their wounds and alleviating their ills. He was not to be a healer, but a defender: someone who uses the power of the earth to conserve and protect.



    Taric became a wandering knight, recognized throughout his homeland as the guardian of the righteous, until one day a summoning spell removed him from his home and deposited him on Runeterra. Disoriented and confused at first, he now feels that the continent of Valoran needs someone like him. Although he misses his native home, Taric is happy fighting in the League, acting as protector of anyone who needs one. His clean, streamlined appearance, along with his glittering, socketed weapons and armor, have led him to become, in the blink of an eye, one of the most famous champions in the League of Legends. The Valoran press, for some reason, has a keen interest in his personal life. Despite being open about his life as a champion and bringing out his innate grace in any conversation, Taric doesn't talk much about his life outside of the League and prefers his privacy.

    Active: Taric smashes the ground with his hammer, dealing magic damage to all nearby enemies. For the next 10 seconds, he also gains bonus attack damage and ability power, while also generating an aura that grants half of those bonuses to nearby allied champions.

    Activation: Taric emits a brilliant light that heals him every second and increases his attack damage. Additionally, it deals half additional damage to nearby allied champions. The mana cost to maintain Radiance increased every second.
