Galio is voiced by Beto Castillo in LATAM and by Juan Carlos Lozano in EUW, who is also voiced by Brand, Jax, Sion y Viktor.

Galio, the Guardian's Sadness

Galio is apparently short for Galileo, after the rebirth of the Pisan polymos.
- The name means "man from Galilee", ultimately from the Semitic root gl "roll". [1]
Galio's dance references Beauty and the Beast by Walt Disney.

Galio, the Colossus

Galio retains his dance after his redesign, which references Walt Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
Refers to your previous alias while attacking a Blue Guardian: "Are you a guardian? I am a guardian! We should fight!"
- However, in this case, this interaction has literal implications: Galio is a textbook definition guardian for Demacia, and Galio perhaps shares similar origins with the Blue Guardian, both are rock beings / minerals empowered / alive by magic. .

Lore

It was built sometime between 667 and 704 years ago, created during the early years of the kingdom.
- Its construction took two years, from the commissioning of Durand for the project until its official inauguration.
On the slopes of the Greenfang Mountains, a group of Demacian soldiers were struck by a barrage of arcane magic projected by a powerful group of Noxian war mages. It was here that Galio absorbed the magic that emanated and woke up for the first time.
Galio normally stands on a pedestal (said to be somehow alongside and straddling) the Memorial Trail miles south, away from the main road that apparently leads to the last North Demacian city gate. At certain times of the year, the Memorial Trail is flooded with travelers who make pilgrimages to the colossus, paying homage to the symbol of Demacian determination.
According to the quote in the game Swain "His secrets died with his sculptor." and then explained in the biography of Sylas and the subsequent Lux: Number 2, Galio perks up once the petricite within him has absorbed enough magic that it was Durand's design intent.
Birds often nest in Gallio's crown. Apparently, it does not simply have the appearance of eyes that you use to see, but rather physical eyeballs that move in their sockets. [2]

Galio was designed by Durand, who also made the shackles of Sylas.
Galio fought against Vladimir and the army Noxian at some point.
As most Demacians do, the Crown Guards make an annual pilgrimage to visit Galio on the Memorial Trail. This is how he first realized Lux, reacting to the growing presence of light magic within her every year since she was a little girl.
Galio sees Lux as the only wizard she likes and has become a kind of guardian for her.
- Lux is apparently the first person to have a real conversation with him. She was 13 at the time. [4]
- Some time after Lux had left the Great City of Demacia, he was summoned by her to help her, Garen and other Demacian soldiers in a northern fortress to fight Sylas and his Winter Claw allies.
